Creating the Lower Housing

  1. In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click SurfaceCut1 and select Edit Feature .
  2. In the PropertyManager, for Selected surface for cut, in the graphics area, select mousebase <Surface-Knit5>.
    The arrow in the graphics area should point straight downward.
  3. In the PropertyManager, click Flip Cut so the arrow in the graphics area points straight upward.
  4. Click to cut away the upper housing.
  5. Click Cut With Surface (Features tab) or Insert > Cut > With Surface.
  6. In the PropertyManager:
    1. Select the surface shown for Selected surface for cut.
    2. Make sure the arrow in the graphics area points to the left of the cutting surface so you cut away the buttons.
    3. Click .
  7. Click File > Save As New.
  8. In the dialog box, save the part to the Base folder as LowerHousing.SLDPRT.
