Settings Dialog Box - Reference Dialog

Use the Reference Dialog page to control how file references are handled when checking out or changing the state of parent files.

By default, when you check out a main file that has references to other files, Enterprise PDM displays a Check Out dialog box, which you can use to check out the referenced files as well.

To display the Settings dialog box, right-click a user or group and select Settings.

Check out files silently without showing the check out dialog box.

Prevents the display of the Check Out dialog box, when you check out files with references. Only the selected files are checked out; each referenced file must be checked out separately.

Try to check out all referenced files when the referencing file is checked out.

When the user checks out a file with references to other files, the referenced files are also marked for check out (if it is possible).

If the option to check out files silently is activated as well, checking out a parent file automatically checks out all referenced files.

Do not mark referenced files when changing state.

When a user changes the state of a parent file, referenced files are not marked for check out.

By default, when changing state on a file, all referenced children are also marked in the Change State dialog box. If this option is active, the referenced files are not marked.

Show "not rebuilt" warning on drawing and assemblies in need of rebuilding.

During check in, if a part has been updated more recently than a drawing or assembly that references it, a warning is displayed.

A help button in the warning displays instructions for rebuilding the affected files.
