Add Web Server Dialog Box

Use the Add Web Server dialog box to attach to the Web server.

To display this dialog box:

Right-click Web Servers and click Add Web Server.

Web Server Name Type the name you want to use to identify this Web server. The name is for identification only and does not have to match any real server name.
Connection URL Type the URL this client (SOLIDWORKS PDM administration tool) will use to connect to the virtual directory for the SOLIDWORKS PDM Web access files.

The URL should be in the form of

HTTP://<WebServerURL>/<DirectoryAlias>

or HTTPS://... if using SSL.

On an intranet, the URL header is most likely the web server name. If you have a public DNS name, you can use it if it can be accessed over port 80 from this client.
