Example: Using the Database Message System

This example describes how to use the built-in SOLIDWORKS PDM database message system.

Configure the vault to use the database message system:
1. Double-click Message System.
2. From the Configure Mailsystem - General tab, select Database and click OK.
Configure a workflow transition to send a notification to a user.
Cause a file to pass through the transition (see SOLIDWORKS PDM Help).
A notification is sent to the user. The user is notified via a system tray icon.
The user views the notification by clicking the system tray icon, or by viewing the vault inbox (Tools > Inbox from SOLIDWORKS PDM Explorer View).
