- Custom Scales for Drawing Sheets and Views
Workflow is improved for setting custom scales for drawing sheets and views.
- Chain Dimensions
You can create a chain of associated dimensions measuring from one feature to the next.
- Alternate Position Views
In part drawings, you can use Alternate Position View to overlay two configurations of a part in a single view. In assembly and part drawings, you can use Edit Feature to open a PropertyManager and define changes to the view.
- Detailing Mode
You can use Detailing mode to open large drawings quickly. The model data is not loaded, but you can add and edit annotations within the drawing.
- Render Pipeline in Drawings
Drawings and drawing annotations benefit from the graphics architecture introduced in SOLIDWORKS 2019, which implemented graphics acceleration and image quality scaling across graphics cards.
- Hole Callouts
- Annotations
- Cosmetic Threads
- Creating Markups for Drawings
You can add markups to drawings on touch and nontouch devices.
- Design Library
When you save a note that contains symbols and linked values to the Design Library, the software stores those symbols and values within the note. When you insert the note from the Design Library into another drawing, the stored symbols and values display correctly.
- Dimensions
- Link Child Views to Parent by Default
When you create a projected view, the drawing view property Use named configuration is set to <Link to parent> by default. Previously, the property was set to Default.
- Location for Saving a New Drawing
When you save a new drawing, the default folder location in the Save or Save As dialog box is the folder where the model in the drawing's first view is saved.
- Performance Improvements in Drawings
When you create a drawing from an open assembly, the creation of the first view may be faster than in previous releases.
