Minimum Bend Radius and Bend Factor

You can create a route part if the bend radius of the cable, core, or wire is less than the minimum bend radius.

You can define the minimum bend radius and the bend factor for cables and wires in SOLIDWORKS Electrical Schematics. The Bend Radius (Diameter x Bend Radius Factor) defines the minimum bend radius. The Bend radius (x Diameter) field is renamed to Bend Radius Factor.

In an electrical segment, the software considers the individual minimum bend radius for the cable and core.

To define the bend radius and bend factor:
  • For wires, right-click a wire in schematic view, click Wire style > Properties, and enter a value for Bend Radius Factor and Bend Radius (Diameter x Bend Radius Factor).
  • For cables, right-click a cable in schematic view, click Cable properties, click the cable name, and enter a value for Bend Radius Factor and Bend Radius (Diameter x Bend Radius Factor).
The Bend Radius Factor and Bend Radius (Diameter x Bend Radius Factor) are interdependent. If you enter the value in one field, the value in the other field updates correspondingly.
