You can apply torsion continuity relations between splines and any other
sketch entity in 2D sketches. The sketch entities must share an end point. These relations
create a smooth continuity at the end point and apply equal curvature and an equal rate of
curvature to the sketch entities.
You can apply torsion continuity relations to a spline and one of these sketch entities:
- Spline
- Arc
- Conic or elliptical arc
- Model edges that are linear, circular, conic, parabolic, elliptical, or
spline-based
To apply torsion continuity relations:
-
Select a plane and open a sketch.
-
Click Style Spline
(Sketch toolbar) or
.
-
Sketch a
spline.
-
Right-click the spline and click Show Curvature Combs.
-
Click 3 Point Arc
(Sketch toolbar) or
.
-
Sketch an arc that shares common end point with the
spline.
-
Right-click the arc and click Show
Curvature Combs.
-
Ctrl + select the spline
and arc.
The Add Relations/Properties
PropertyManager appears.
-
In the Add Relations/Properties
PropertyManager, under Add Relations,
click Torsion Continuity
.
-
Click .
The result is a smooth continuity with equal curvature and equal rate of
curvature at the shared end point between the spline and
arc.
