Exporting Toolbox BOMs

You can export a Toolbox BOM to a text file after you insert balloons into a drawing. The BOM shows data for the blocks you associate with balloons.

Before you export a Toolbox BOM, you must insert balloons into the drawing.
  1. Click Export BOM (Mechanical Toolbox toolbar) or Mechanical Toolbox > BOM > Export.
  2. In the Bill of Materials Output file dialog box, navigate to the location where you want to save the exported BOM.
  3. Type a name for the exported file and click Save.
    The BOM is saved as a comma-separated text file in the format:

    USED_IN, ITEM, PART_NO, DESC, QTY

    To provide assembly names for the USED_IN field and part numbers for the PART_NO field, edit the balloons in the drawing and use the Toolbox - Balloon Edit dialog box to add the information.
