Add Child Scenario

The Add Child Scenario dialog box lets you apply a scenario from the current or another project to a node.

For a scenario to have an effect, the actor GUIDs (globally unique identifiers) must match.

To display this dialog box, right-click a node in the Assembly tree and click Scenario > Apply Scenario to Node.

The following topics are discussed:

Main area

Command Name Description
File name Specifies the Composer scenario ( .smgSce) file.
Files of type Always Scenario (.smgSce).
Recent folders Lists folders you have recently visited.
Open Opens the selected scenario.

Apply mode

Command Name Description
Apply mode Specifies the apply mode:
  • Merge - Merges the animation with any existing animation keys.
  • Replace - Removes any existing animation keys.
With reference

Creates a link to the child scenario file from the parent scenario file. The link is dynamic, so changes to the child scenario are automatically applied. To include (flatten) the child scenario file in the parent, clear this option.

Force resolution Forces a scenario from a node. For example, if the GUID of the scenario is a.b.c, you can apply it to the sub-product "c" only.

Time stretching

Command Name Description
Start position Specifies the starting point of the animation.
End position Specifies the ending point of the animation. If not selected, the animation plays until the end.
Invert Swaps the start and end positions to play the animation in reverse.
