Manufacturer part management: Properties > Properties tab

Symbol properties > Manufacturer part and circuits tab: Properties

This dialog box is common to the properties of a manufacturer part stored in the catalog and the properties of a component of the current electrical project. When you assign a manufacturer part to a component, the catalog data are copied to the electrical project. They can be different.

All these values can be used during the search for a manufacturer part.

General

Reference: A code identifying the manufacturer part.

Manufacturer: The name of the manufacturer or brand of the device.

Class: The class to which the equipment belongs. To modify the class the manufacturer part belongs to, click [...] and select the class.

Library: Select the library in which the manufacturer part is stored.

Type: There are several types:

Base manufacturer part type is an element with a graphic representation in a drawing with device terminal numbers displayed. Example: a circuit breaker.

Auxiliary manufacturer part type is an element with a graphic representation in a drawing which is a child to a Base. Example: a contact.

Accessory manufacturer part type is an element without a graphic representation which is a child to a Base or Auxiliary. Example: a label.

And other types for specific devices.

Article number: Internal information managed by the user.

External ID: The External ID is used to link an element with the corresponding one in an external application.

Exclude from the bill of materials: You can select this option if you want to hide this manufacturer part in the bill of materials. In the report properties, activate the filter named Hide excluded BOM. This option propagates in the manufacturer part properties associated with a component of the project. It also propagates in the 3D part or assembly properties.

Series: Often, the manufacturer parts are grouped by series such as TESYS in the Schneider catalog.

Data sheet: Allows you to assign a link with the manufacturer part. This link can be a file such as "Instructions for use" or "Technical specifications" or an "Internet link". To create the link, click [...] and select the file or enter the Web address. The Open button allows you to open the link.

Mark root: Lets the root mark be used when you create a component. If no value is entered, the root associated with the class is used.

Description: Lets you enter a description in all languages managed by the software. The specific icon allows you to open the language selector.

Commercial reference: The commercial number. You can use an internal reference or the range of the device, for example. Enter the value in all languages managed by the software. The specific icon allows you to open the language selector.

Supplier

Supplier name: Lets you enter the supplier name.

Stock number: Lets you enter the stock number of the supplier.

Information

Creator: Displays the origin of the object (System = provided with the software installation, User = created by a user, and Modified system = provided with the software installation and modified by the user)

Created by: Displays the name of the user who created the object.

Creation date: Displays the date of the creation of the object.

Modified by: Displays the name of the user who modified the object.

Modification date: Displays the date of the modification of the object.

Illustration

This section allows you to assign a specific symbol to the manufacturer part. Click [...] to open the selector corresponding to the different symbols.

Line diagram: Lets to assign a line diagram symbol to the manufacturer part.

Scheme: Lets to assign a schematic symbol to the manufacturer part.

3D part: Lets to assign a 3D part or assembly to the manufacturer part used for the 3D layout.

2D footprint: Lets to assign a 2D footprint symbol to the manufacturer part used for the 2D cabinet layout.

Connection label: Lets to assign a connection label symbol to the manufacturer part.

Printed circuit board file: Lets to assign a PCB symbol to the manufacturer part.

Terminal type: Allows you to define the symbol of terminal type, associated with this manufacturer part, that can be used to generate the terminal strip drawings. To use this symbol, you must activate the Insert custom symbol parameter in the Terminal strip drawing configuration. This value propagates to all components of the electrical project using this manufacturer part.

Terminal strip symbol: Allows you to define the terminal strip symbol, associated with this manufacturer part, that can be used to generate the terminal strip drawings. To use this symbol, you must activate the Insert custom symbol parameter in the Terminal strip drawing configuration. This value propagates to all components of the electrical project using this manufacturer part.

Size

Width: Indicates the width of the manufacturer part (used in 2D or 3D layout).

Height: Indicates the height of the manufacturer part (used in 2D or 3D layout).

Depth: Indicates the depth of the manufacturer part (used in 2D or 3D layout).

Use / Control

Enter electrical data for the manufacturer part. These values are used as criteria to find the manufacturer part.
