Configuring a Vault Attached to a Web API Server

You can configure a vault attached to a Web API server to:
  • Define the file server root folder, which stores all the temporary files of the Web API server.
    • This is a server setting and applies to all vaults attached to the Web API server.
    • The Web API server must have write access to the file server root folder.
  • Select an Indexing User. The user has rights to perform indexing operations.
This is a vault-specific setting and applies only to setups involving EXALEAD OnePart.

To configure a vault attached to a Web API server:

  1. In the Administration tool, expand Web API Servers, expand the Web API server name, right-click the vault, and select Configure.
  2. In the login screen, enter your User name and Password for SOLIDWORKS PDM.
Only an Admin user can configure a vault attached to the Web API server.
  3. In the Configure Vault dialog box, enter the path to the file server root folder, or click Browse to select the folder location.
If the file server root folder is located on the Web API server, provide a local path, otherwise provide a UNC path.
  4. Optional: Under Advanced, select Indexing User.
This step applies only to EXALEAD OnePart.
  5. Click OK.
After installation and configuration of a Web API server, the EXALEAD OnePart users must install and configure SOLIDWORKS PDM Web API Connector. For details, see Chapter SOLIDWORKS PDM Web API Connector of OnePart Connectors Guide.
