Attaching Part References to Blocks

You can use the AM_PartReferenceBlock command to create a Part Reference in the graphics area and attach it to a Block.

If the block has a BlockAttribute that has the same name as a component property, the Part Reference automatically imports the corresponding values.

To attach Part References to blocks:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the ribbon, click Mechanical Annotate > Part References > PR Block.
    • Enter AM_PartReferenceBlock in the Command window.
    • Enter AM_PartReference, then specify the Block option in the Command window.
  2. In the graphics area, specify a Block.
  3. In the Part Reference dialog box, specify the component properties for the Part Reference.

  4. Click OK.

    The Part Reference symbol is attached to the Block.

    If you select a Block that already contains a Part Reference, or an entity that is not a Block, the prompt repeats.
