You can specify the relative position of components with distance mates.
Next, in the second motion study, you define the assembly motion. You set the distance mate
distance to 2.0 inches at 5 seconds, and to 0.0 inches at the beginning and the end of the
animation.

Select the Motion Study 2 tab.
- In the FeatureManager design tree, expand Mates

Right-click the Distance1
mate, and click Edit Feature
.
The distance mate has a distance of 0.000in.
The distance mate defines the distance between the collar
and the central column.

Click
twice
to close the
Distance1
and Mate PropertyManagers.

Drag the time bar to 5 seconds.

In the MotionManager tree, double-click the Distance1
mate, and in the
box
that appears in the graphics area, enter 2.0in.
Perform this step in the MotionManager tree and not in the
FeatureManager design tree.
