Sharing Files with References

You can share files to any workspace with some or all referenced files using Share with References.

  1. Click to select the file with references you want to share.

Share with References can only be used when a single file is selected. The command will not be available when multiple files are selected.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click on the selected file and click Share with References.
    • Click Action button and click Share with References.
    • Hover the mouse pointer over any selected item, click Menu button then click Share with References.

Shared files are just a representation of the original file. When you change a shared file or make a comment, you are also changing and commenting on the original.

    The Share Files screen opens.

  3. (Option) To exclude one or more referenced files from an assembly or drawing from being shared, do the following:
    1. Click Expand list icon, located next to the file name, to expand the list of referenced files.
    2. Click the checkbox next to each part you want to exclude from sharing to deselect it.
  4. Select the workspace to which you want to upload the file from the Selected files will be shared to list.
  5. Click Share.

    A confirmation dialog appears.

  6. Click OK.

The selected files are shared to the selected workspace, and you are returned to the Workspace Details screen.
