Secure 3D Brush

Secure 3D Brush protects your intellectual property (IP) by degrading information at the geometrical level while preserving total model coherence.

To display this dialog box, optionally select one or more geometry actors, and then click Geometry > Secure > Secure 3D Brush . Once you have selected your options, in the viewport, hold down the left-mouse button and drag over the selected actors. Press Esc when finished.

Important: You cannot undo the effect of Secure 3D Brush.

Notes:

  • Secure 3D Brush affects only selected actors. When no actors are selected, it affects the entire model.
  • Measurement collaborative actors added to secured models do not have accurate values, and some measurements are not possible.
  • Secure 3D Brush moves tessellation vertices to reduce accuracy. To remove tessellation vertices without affecting model accuracy, use Decimation Tab.
  • You can degrade the geometry of the entire model when you save it by selecting the Reduce accuracy option.
  • The Composer degradation approach prevents unauthorized reverse engineering because it is not based on a technology that traps the list of graphic primitives as they are sent to the graphic card (which is the case for Acrobat3D ®, for example).

Command Name Description
Radius Defines the size of the area where degradation is applied.
Precision Specifies the amount of accuracy loss. To transform the geometry, a grid is created. Each point of space is located in a box of this grid. The new coordinate of the point running is the center of the grid. Therefore, according to the dimensions you define, the maximum loss of information is controlled.
