Lets you access the Formula management. The Formula management can also be accessed by a double-click on the cell.

Formula to generate page marks

In this section, you can enter formulas for marking books, folders and drawings. These formulas consist of variables and text strings with + separators.

For example; the formula "Bundle" + BOOK_ORDERNO returns: Bundle 1

The Row and Column fields let you select the formula to be used for marking the rows and columns (used for cross references and origin-destination).

Origin-destination and cross references

Lets you enter the formula for the polarity origin-destination texts and the cross references texts.

Marks unique by

Used to manage the type of uniqueness for a mark.

Component: The level of uniqueness for component marks can be selected from the drop-down list. For example, if you opt for the marks to be unique by Location, it will not be possible to have two identical component marks in the same location. You can have two identical marks if they do not belong to the same location.

Terminal strip: As for components, the drop-down list is used to manage the level of uniqueness for terminal strip marks.

Cable:  Lets you manage the level of uniqueness for cable marks.

Wire and component numbering

Direction: This parameter is used to manage the priority, either horizontal or vertical.  If you select the icon, the marks of elements aligned on the same vertical axis will be processed in priority in relation to marks of elements aligned on a horizontal axis.

Unique order number: When this box is checked, the value obtained from the Order number variable used in the marking formulas is without discontinuity over the whole electrical project. If the box is not checked, the Order number starts again at 1 as soon as the element selected in the Marks unique by is modified.

For example, if the level of uniqueness of the component mark is set to Location and you have placed a symbol marked Q1 in location L1, if you uncheck the Unique order number box, the second symbol will be marked Q2, whatever location it has been inserted into. However, if you check the box, it will be marked Q1, if it is inserted in a different location and Q2, if it is inserted in location L1.

Wire style management: A button allows access to the Wire style management to set the connection parameters numbering. The marks are calculated in relation to their geographical location in the drawing, starting at the top left-hand corner and working towards the bottom right-hand corner of the drawing.

Assign unused mark: If you select this option, the wire or equipotential number, or the order number assigned to a new component mark or a new cable mark is only a new number. The removed numbers are never reused.

Priority for component mark: Used in the Renumber marks feature, select the type of symbol used to to initialize formula variable for component with multiple symbols. For example, if you select the Multiwire symbol option, the component variable FILE_TAG is set with the first schematic symbol found, even if a Line diagram symbol is found before it for the same component.

start the numbering. For example, if you select the Multiwire symbol option, the number "1" is affected to the first schematic symbol found, even if a Line diagram symbol is found before it.

Sort by mark

Several options are available to sort the marks of all the marked elements. The option of mark sorting is available in the Component tab of the dockable panel, the Terminal strip management, the wire cabling order, the cable, the PLC management and the Search management.

Automatic mark, by root / order number then manual mark: Displays first the automatic numbers sorted by the root (if it is used in the formula) and the order number (number is unique in the root) and to finish, it displays the manual mark sorted in alphabetical order. This is the default mode.

Natural sort, mixing automatic and manual: Sorts all the marks (manual and automatic) in alphabetical order as you can find in a Windows Explorer, for example: A1, A2, A3, A10, A11, A20...

Mark

You can use the IEC61346 numbering standard (=F1+A1-KA1) or Customized mark.

If you choose a Customized mark, you must enter a formula for a variety of different marking systems, such as Location or Function. These formulas are made up of variables and text strings with + separators.

You can also select the Separator for mark path, this is used when you have cascaded components to separate the component mark and the mark of the parent component. Select in the list the proposed value or enter the specific character you want.
