Listing Normal Stress at the Interface

You list normal stresses SZ at the upper edge of the interface.

  1. Right-click Stress1 (-Z normal-) in the Results folder and select Probe .
  2. In the PropertyManager under Options, select On selected entities.
  3. Under Results:
    1. Select the upper edge of the interface of the two cantilevers for Faces, Edges, or Vertices .
    2. Click Update.
    Under Summary, the average normal stress is listed as 60,002 psi. A positive value indicates tension.
  4. Under Results:
    1. Right-click in Faces, Edges, or Vertices and click Clear Selections.
    2. Select the lower edge of the interface of the two cantilevers for Faces, Edges, or Vertices .
    3. Click Update.
    Under Summary, the average normal stress is listed as -60,000 psi. A negative value indicates compression.
  5. Click PM_OK.gif.
