Listing Reaction Forces on the Locker

No loads other than contact and friction forces are applied on the locker. The total force induced by contact and friction on the locker should be balanced by the reaction forces that develop at the support.

  1. In the PropertyManager under Options, select Reaction force.
  2. In the PropertyManager, under Selection:
    1. First clear the existing selection, and select the face shown for Faces, Edges, or Vertices .
    2. Click Update.
The listed reaction forces are approximately: 11.4N for Sum X, -146N for Sum Y, 1.51N for Sum Z, and 146.59N for Resultant. These forces are approximately equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the total contact/friction forces.
  3. Click .
  4. Save the model and close the assembly document.

Congratulations! You have completed this lesson.
