Listing Contact, Friction, and Total Force

  1. Click Show/Hide Mesh on the Simulation toolbar two times to hide the results.
  2. Right-click the Results folder in the Simulation study tree and select List Result Force .
  3. In the PropertyManager under Options, select Contact/Friction force.
  4. Under Selection:
    1. Set Unit to SI.
    2. Select the face shown for Faces, Edges, or Vertices.
    3. Click Update.
  5. Under Contact/Friction Force, select Normal in Force type.
    The forces on the selection are approximately: -18.5N for Sum X, 146N for Sum Y, -0.0017N for Sum Z, and 147N for Resultant.
  6. Select Friction in Force type.
    The forces on the selection are approximately: 7.27N for Sum X, 0.7N for Sum Y, 1.21e-4N for Sum Z, and 7.3N for Resultant.
  7. Select Total in Force type.
    The forces on the selection are approximately: -11.2N for Sum X, 146N for Sum Y, -0.00149N for Sum Z, and 147N for Resultant.
  8. Leave the PropertyManager open for the next procedure.
