Mechanical Toolbox Hardware Options

Toolbox includes standards-based hardware components that you can insert into drawings.

To display the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box, do one of the following:

  • Click Hardware (Mechanical toolbar).
  • Click Mechanical Content > Hardware > Insert.

The left side of the Toolbox - Hardware dialog box lists the hardware components that are available:

  • Bolts and Screws
  • Nuts
  • Pins
  • Washers

For each set of components, you select the:

  • Standard
  • Type of component, for example, Hex Bolt or Hex Screw

    Toolbox displays a preview of the component.

  • Size
  • Scale factor

The Hardware Assistant section helps you combine bolts and screws with existing holes in your drawing. It is unavailable for nuts, pins, and washers.

The Properties section lets you:

  • View and modify the component name.
  • Select the method used to create the hardware component in the drawing.
  • View and change values for the component's 2D geometry.

The Settings button takes you to the Settings dialog box, where you can select whether to insert the hardware component as a block and change layer preferences.
