Selecting Mechanical Toolbox Settings
The Toolbox - Settings dialog box lets you specify basic settings for Mechanical Toolbox entities.
You can modify these settings for before you start drawing or at creation time. The settings are saved in profiles.
The dialog box groups the settings according to the type of entities:
- Annotations
- Hardware
- Holes
- Tables
- Layers
- Snaps
In the Toolbox - Settings dialog box, expand the category of settings and the type of settings to modify.
To access the Toolbox - Settings dialog box:
- Do one of the following:
- On the ribbon, select Mechanical Content > Settings.
- On the menu, click Mechanical Content > Settings.
- On the Mechanical toolbar, click Settings
.
Additionally, you can access the dialog box contextually, when you create components:
- by clicking Settings button in the corresponding dialog box
- using the Settings option of the corresponding command (if available).

Use the Annotations category of the Toolbox - Settings dialog box to specify settings for hole callouts, balloons, surface finish symbols, and welding symbols that you use to annotate drawings.

Use the Layers category of the Toolbox - Settings dialog box to map and manage predefined layers to basic entity types or to Mechanical Toolbox parts, symbols, and tables.

Use the Snaps category of the Settings dialog box to manage and control Mechanical Snap Configurations.
