Editing Hardware and Hole Definitions

You can modify the definitions of Mechanical Toolbox hardware and holes that you have added to a drawing.

To edit hardware or hole definitions:

  1. In the graphics area, select a Mechanical Toolbox hardware component or hole.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If you selected a hardware component, click Edit Hardware (Mechanical toolbar).
    • If you selected a hole, click Edit Hole (Mechanical toolbar).
  3. In the Toolbox - Edit Definition dialog box, under Entity Info, note the value of the Quantity Found property.
  4. If it is more than one, under Entity edit select one of the following:
    Option Effect Next Action
    All Applies your edits to all instances of the selected component. Click Edit.
    Single Applies your edits to the selected component only. Click Edit.
    Multiple Lets you specify the instances of the component to which the edits apply. Click Edit.

    The Toolbox - Edit Definition dialog box closes. In the graphics area, select the components to edit.

    Click Enter.

    The Toolbox - Hardware or Toolbox - Hole dialog box opens.

  5. Modify any of the active fields and click OK.

    In the graphics area, your edits are applied to the components you selected.
