Toolbox - Edit Definition Dialog Box

Use the Toolbox - Edit Definition dialog box to see the current values for a selected hardware component or hole. You can also initiate editing of some of these properties.

Note: When editing screw connections, see Toolbox - Edit Definition Dialog Box: for Screw Connections.

To open the Toolbox - Edit Definition dialog box.

Do one of the following:

  • To edit Toolbox hardware, click Edit Hardware (Mechanical toolbar) or Mechanical Content > Hardware > Edit.
  • To edit a Toolbox hole, click Edit Hole (Mechanical toolbar) or Mechanical Content > Hole > Edit.

In the graphics area, select the hardware component or hole to edit.

Entity Info

The table lists the following details for the selected component:

Quantity Found (Read-only.)
Indicates the number of entities that have exactly the same properties as the selected entity.
If there is more than one instance exists, you can select which instances to edit.
Description List the component's Name from the Description section of the Toolbox - Hardware or Toolbox - Hole dialog box.
Standard (Read-only.)
Lists the standard on which the component is based.
Size Sets the component's size.
Creation Method (Read-only.)
Lists the view of the component in the drawing.

Component-specific properties from the Toolbox - Hardware or Toolbox - Hole dialog boxes.

The properties that are listed depend on the component category.
  • For hardware, the categories are Bolts and Screws, Nuts, Pins, or Washers.
  • For holes, the categories are Counterbore, Countersink, Thru Hole, Tap, and Slot.

Note: The following properties are only shown if the correlated angle is greater than 0°:

  • Near side C'sink (diameter and angle)
  • Far side C'sink (diameter and angle)
  • Under head C'sink (diameter and angle)
Layer (Read-only) Lists the layer preference selected for the component.

Entity Edit

All Applies your edits to all instances of the selected component in the drawing.
Single Applies your edits to the selected component only.
Multiple Applies your edits to selected instances of the component.
Edit (If you select All or Single.)
Closes the Toolbox - Edit Definition dialog box and opens the Toolbox - Hardware or Toolbox - Hole dialog box. You can edit the fields that are active.

(If you select Multiple.)
Closes the Toolbox - Edit Definition dialog box and returns you to the drawing so that you can select the components to edit.
After selecting the components, press Esc to open the Toolbox - Hardware or Toolbox - Hole dialog box.

Command: AM_Edithardware, AM_EditHole

Menu: Mechanical Content > Hardware > Edit, Mechanical Content > Hole > Edit

Ribbon: Mechanical Content > Hardware > Edit, Mechanical Content > Hole > Edit
