«Modify Detail View Style» Dialog Box

This dialog box lets you specify the properties of the selected detail view.

In the Detail Edit dialog box, click Settings to display the Modify Detail View Style dialog box.

The dialog box contains the following tabs:

Restore Defaults

Restores settings to the default values according to the current standard.

Identifier Tab

Identifier

Groups options for specifying the text style, color, and height for displaying detail view identifiers.

The ByCurrentStandardName option lets you use the text style, color, or height from the current drafting style settings.

Identifier

Groups options for specifying the text style, color and height for displaying detail view identifiers.

Text style Specifies the text style for displaying the detail view label. The drop-down list displays all available styles If necessary, you can add more styles to the list. Clicking displays the Options dialog box. From the Drafting Styles page, you can add new custom text styles to the list.
Text color Specifies the color for displaying the detail view label.
Text height Specifies the height of the detail view label.

Arrangement

Groups options for placement of identifiers.

Places the identifier on the detail view boundary, within a gap.

Places the identifier near the detail view boundary.

Symbol For an open detail view boundary, lets you specify the arrowhead type to use at the endpoints of the boundary. Both endpoints use the same arrowhead.
Symbol color Specifies the color to use for arrowheads. Both endpoints use the same color.
Symbol size Specifies the size of arrowheads. You can select from the available values.

Detail Boundary Tab

Groups options for specifying the appearance of the boundary line, model edge, and connection line.

Boundary line

Groups options for setting the line color, style, and weight for the detail boundary line.

Model edge

Groups options for setting the appearance of the model edge, line color, style, and weight for the model edge.

The following options are available:

  • Smooth. Displays smooth cut lines on the model in the detail view.
  • Smooth with border. Displays a border around the detail view.
  • Smooth with connection line. Displays a connection line between the detail boundary and the detail view boundary.

Additional options let you specify the line color, style, and weight for the model edge.

The ByCurrentStandardName option lets you use the line style, color, or weight from the current drafting style settings.

Connection line

Groups options for setting the line color, style, and weight for the connection line.

The ByCurrentStandardName option lets you use the line style, color, or weight from the current drafting style settings.

View Label Tab

Identifier

Groups options for specifying the text style, color and height for displaying detail view identifiers.

Show view label When enabled, displays the content of the label on the detail view.
Text style Specifies the text style for displaying the detail view label. The drop-down list displays all available styles If necessary, you can add more styles to the list. Clicking displays the Options dialog box. From the Drafting Styles page, you can add new custom text styles to the list.
Text color Specifies the color for displaying the detail view label.
Text height Specifies the height of the detail view label.
Position Specifies where to place the detail view label:
  • Upper. Places the label above the detail view boundary.
  • Lower. Places the label under the detail view boundary.
Distance from view Specifies the distance between the detail view boundary and the label.

Label contents

Lets you specify the information to display in the detail view label. To configure the label content, click Field .

Displays the Field dialog box, which lets you add more detail view properties to the content of the label. The following detail view properties are available:

  • ViewScale. Includes the scale of a model documentation detail view.
  • ViewType. Includes the type of the view in the detail view label. For example, when used in a section view label, it displays "Section".
  • ViewDetailId. Includes the detail view identifier that you specified in the Detail dialog box.
