Managing Users with Groups

To make it easier to manage users, you can create groups whose members inherit the group permissions.

To work with groups, you:

  • Create the group.
  • Add group members.
  • Assign group permissions.

    The permissions are the same as those that are assigned to individual users.

A user can belong to several groups, inheriting permissions from all groups they belong to. However, explicit permissions assigned in the user's Properties dialog box overrule inherited group permissions.

    Use the Users and Groups dialog boxes to modify properties and settings, view history, or delete more than one user or group account at a time.

    Use the Group Properties dialog box to manage groups and their rights in the Enterprise PDM vault.
