Rectangular Duct Elbow Geometry Requirements

The following elements are required to create a rectangular duct elbow for using in a duct route assembly. Please note that the feature names and dimension names except BendRadius@ElbowArc, BendAngle@ElbowArc, and AlignmentAngle@Sketch1 may change as per your design requirements.

Rectangular Duct Elbow Sketch

  • A sketch on the Right plane named Sketch1.
  • A square or rectangle, created from the origin of the sketch with dimensions named:
    • Height@Sketch1
    • Width@Sketch1
    • AlignmentAngle@Sketch1 (mandatory dimension)

      Height@Sketch1 = 0.50

      Width@Sketch1 = 1

      AlignmentAngle@Sketch1 = 0° (mandatory dimension)
The above image represents a horizontal bend.
  • A sketch on the Top plane named ElbowArc with dimensions named:
    • BendRadius@ElbowArc (mandatory dimension)
    • BendAngle@ElbowArc (mandatory dimension)
Elbow Arc must be created after the sweep feature Sweep-Thin1 is created.

    BendRadius@ElbowArc = 1.5

    BendAngle@ElbowArc= 90°

    Bend Radius and Bend Angle

  • A sketch for connection points called Sketch2:
    • A connection point property on the Right plane called CPoint1 with dimensions named:
      • Depth@CPoint1
      • Width@CPoint1.
    • A connection point property on the Front plane called CPoint2 with dimensions named:
      • Depth@CPoint2
      • Width@CPoint2.
    Sketch2: CPoint 1 and CPoint 2

A sweep feature on the Top plane named Sweep-Thin1 with dimension named Thickness@Sweep-Thin1.
Thickness@Sweep-Thin1= 0.002
Horizontal Bend = 0°
Vertical Bend = 90°
