Defining Revision Table Settings

The appearance of revision tables is controlled by revision table settings. You can configure these settings before or after you insert a revision table.

If you create revision tables without configuring settings, the software creates the tables using default settings. If you modify the default settings after you have added revision tables to a document, you are prompted to recreate the existing tables to update their settings.

To define revision table settings:

  1. Click Settings (Mechanical toolbar) or Mechanical Annotate > Settings.
  2. On the right side of theSettings dialog box, select Tables.
  3. On the left side of the dialog box, expand Revision Table.
  4. Under Display:
    1. Use the Header orientation drop-down list to select whether heading in revision tables appear at the top or bottom of the table.
    2. Select the corner of the revision table that will act as the Anchor point.
    3. Click Display title to display the title REVISION TABLE in the location you selected for Header orientation.
  5. Under Text:
    1. Select the Text style for revision table headings.
    2. Type the Text size for revision table text.
    3. Use the Change case drop-down list to choose the case of revision table descriptions.
  6. Under Miscellaneous:
    1. From Symbol shapes, select the shape to be used for revisions you insert.

      When you change shapes, the Symbol Control options become active.

      Select one of the following:

      • Continue with new symbols. The software changes the shape only for new revision symbols you add.
      • Change all. The software changes the shape for all revision symbols, including symbols that are already in the document.
    2. From Revision control, select whether revision symbols will contain Numbers or Letters.

      When you change revision control, the Change all revisions option becomes active.

      • Select Change all revisions to apply the change to existing revision symbols as well as future revision symbols.
      • Clear Change all revisions to apply the change only to future revision symbols. If you change only future revision symbols, you may have tables with mixed numeric and alphabetical symbols. If you recreate or reindex a table with mixed symbols, you may loose edits that you have made to the table.
    3. Under Multiple sheet style, select the sheet style for revision tables on multiple sheets:

      Choose one of the following:

      • On Sheet 1. The revision table is created on one sheet. If you create a revision table on another sheet, it references the originally created table.
      • Independent. Revision tables you create on multiple sheets are independent of each other.Note: If you change to Independent in a drawing that currently has sheets that reference the original table, a prompt warns you that child tables will be deleted.
  7. Click OK.

    If revision tables that use other settings already appear in the drawing, you are prompted to recreate those tables to apply the new settings.
